Default Technological Failure

I haven't had a technical failure with my diabetes supplies until this weekend. It's been a long time and one has to stay level headed when figuring out the best response when such failures occur.
Saturday morning I dialed up my morning dose of Tresiba (26 units). I stick it in my leg, and hit the button plunger thing - and immediately I knew something was up. The clicking of pen sounded off and it didn't give that final click when the dialed dosage had been delivered. So I pulled it out and the pen said I still had 14 units to inject. The plunger part of the pen was all the way down. I wasn't sure how accurate that was but I went on the premise that I only got 12 units so I reset the pen and dialed it for 14 more units and the second time it worked fine.
Fortunately my decision to go with correct math was the right choice as my BGs weren't any different than usual.
But having said that - who needs the extra worry. Hope it's a long time before the gremlins mess with my meds.

I had my first failure and have only been on insulin a short while. In my case it was my Novolog pen. It wouldn't inject and I tried multiple times. Turned out not to be the pen but the needle. Changed it and all was fine.
