Default Yo-yo BG readings?

Try to be faithful to LCHF diet for a few years and working well. I'm 80, a widower living along, with a lot of ground fruit, veggies, nuts, skinless chicken, salmon, cod, some beef, with very little variations. [boring diet]

My BG readings have been 95-105 for years, then suddenly they were 120 - 130 for no apparent reason. This went on a couple of days then dropped to normal, 95-105. Some days later, popped to 130 again.

With almost no change in my diet, this up/down/up is confusing.

Test strips are three weeks old and I have a new OneTouch Ultra 2.

Since my diet is good, I've decided to ignore it, but is this common?

I know some changes can be seasonal, others could be from things like stress or onset of an illness, even a tooth ache. Erratic numbers could be caused a weak battery in the meter, even though it is a new meter, that was the case earlier this year on the forum. I figure you have a wash/dry hands routine before testing, are you using paper towels to dry with or a kitchen towel, or changed hand soaps? As ShottleBop mentioned the other day, he bought some compatible third party strips for his one touch that were of a different code than the OEMs.

Thanks. I am careful about cleaning finger, etc and drying. My new [cheaper] test strips are coded 4 instead of the more common 25.

Good numbers today so I've decided to kinda ignore it and just eat carefully.
