What I know about GD would make homer Simpson look like a Mensa member.

But congrats on the pregnancy!

I had GD with both of my pregnancies.

The recommendations aren't much different from what most people here try to follow. 90 or below fasting, under 140 at 1 hour, under 120 at 2 hours. Its pretty standard for a doctor to order a GTT around 28 weeks into the pregnancy which is when GD usually shows up.

Definitely have her mention it at her next appointment, the doctor might order it a few weeks early.

Congrats to both of you. Here in the US all pregnant women are given an OGTT to determine if they have Gestational Diabetes. If you do have it then they give you fairly strick bg ranges , much stricter than normal D's. So if she is concerned have her ask her doc for the OGTT.

Congrats Tony, you should name him Paul.

Only way to be 100% is to get a tolerance test. Be on top of it. I know you are.

The doctor has already ordered the OGTT before the next appointment (after 4 weeks) but since we did a fasting today, I got concerned. I will check her dinner pp in about an hour from now.

Paul, I do not know whether I should name the baby Paul or Paulina because it's illegal in India to find out the gender of the child before birth...

ok, wife's PP was 107. Maybe I got worried (infact she also got very worried). Today in the evening one hour after fruits (pomegranate and grapes) was 101 and now 2 hours after a normal carby dinner was at 107

So I guess we are in the safe. The OGTT is still on the cards though !

Her bgs sound fine to me, but I am not a doctor. My husband and I always had so much fun trying out new names beforehad. My husband always came up with these historical names. I refused to do that to a kid.
