I have a Medtronic Minimed pump. I had a motor error a few months ago and being the first time it's happened to me, I just brushed it off. However, I had another one right before Christmas, and now another today. It happens when I'm bolusing. Is this something defective in my pump or is it just something that can happen if the cord gets too kinked when bolusing? But when it's kinked, I usually get a no delivery error. I'm very confused, should I contact the company or does it happen occasionally and I shouldn't worry?
I would definitely call Medtronic support. Have you had your pump for very long? Did it give you an error code when the problem occurred?
Years ago, my first pump gave me an error code and when I called Medtronic they were very good and over-nighted a temporary replacement that I could use until I could get a new one.
As an update, when I called minimed I was told to call back when I had a few hours free to talk about it. I was free then but they hung up. I am confused and it still happens once a month or so.
If you are still receiving those 'error' messages I would call back to Medtronic and ask to speak with a supervisor. If your pump is under warranty the company should make it right. These pumps are not cheap and you deserve something that is dependable.
