My dog is a rescue dog too. Have her pics in my album. She does not have all fingers in her hind legs and hence limps and can't run. I think its in her mind though because when we come back home from work, we find all her toys scattered around the house, on the bed, underneath the sofa etc and she runs around us when she sees us I agree that decent food and treatment can do wonders. She took 4 months to bark after she came with us. For awhile we were wondering whether she was deaf and dumb She is happy and we are glad! I am glad you guys rescued a dog too.

Alys is (mostly) Labrador. We collected her from the local rescue centre in December 2004, so we don't know her precise pedigree or age. (At the time the centre suggested she was between eighteen months and two years old. Three months later, when we took her to the Vet for the official handover, he revised this and suggested she was no more than a year old. Amazing what three months of decent food and treatment can do for a dog!)

So, on that basis I've edited my caption. She's now a nine year old puppy!
