- About choirsinger123
- I am a single mother of 2 almost adult children. I live a very busy life! I am a Realtor, be the market good or bad.Selling homes is very rewarding for me, and I am very good at it!The past few years have been tough, but it is improving. My main interest in life is singing, mostly classical music. I sing with several choirs, and have sung on some of the most prestigious stages in the NY area.It is very exciting, and a huge part of my life. When the world is not treating me well, and the day has been a tough one, opening up a Mozart or Handel score is my respite and makes the mean world disappear! How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice, practice, practice-so I do!!

- Your experiences with diabetes
- For about the last 10 years or so,my doctor would tell me I needed to lose weight, as my blood sugar was on the high side, and she did not want me to become diabetic. Since no one in my family has ever had this disease, my parents are 92 and 96 years old,I just thought she was being an alarmist and mean to me because I was overweight and she was a skinny beanpole!Well, all of a sudden I began to be thirsty all the time, then I could barely get out of bed, broke out in rashes, and began to lose weight although I was eating (poorly) and hungry all the time. A friend who has been a type 1 diabetic for 40 years, offered to check my BS at work. It was 423!! I was not really aware of how bad that was-he told me to get right to my doctor. That was my great awakening into this awful club. I have struggled with anger, sadness and defiance over the past few years. I have finally taken charge of my health. I take 2000 mg of MetforminER each day, and follow the LCHF diet. I hope if I can lose enough weight, I may be able to decrease or eliminate medication and the "fun" side effects!
