- About jimmyt2dm
- I am a long time type 2 diabetic that has normalized my blood sugar, although I am still a bit insulin resistant. I am semi retired. My interests are computer hardware and self education of metabolic issues. I want to become healthy through lifestyle. Following the Standard Western diet is going to cause morbidity and then mortality. My favorite quote is:
Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food - Hippocrates.

- Having type 2 diabetes has changed my lifestyle, I try to get 7.5 hours of sleep, fast and have 2 low carb high fat meals everyday. I have quit eating sugar and processed foods. I have been off of Metformin for 3 plus years and manage my blood sugar through diet and exercise. The problem that I had with Metformin was after I had consumed a pill it always made me sick. I quit using it without telling my doctors and self educated myself concerning diet, lifestyle and life. That helped me to lower my A1c to 5.4. He then asked me how I did it and I explained to him and he took notes. For those of you that have metabolic issues I suggest you find your carb tolerance and work on that. Lastly, I have lost 35 lbs and 4 inches off of my waist, and have maintained this state for 3 plus years.
