I find for me that it takes a few days for my fasting to go down to what I call normal and then to hold it takes a few more days. And I've been at this for a few months now. It may take a few days for it to go down, but it took months for it in the beginning. The grapes would have make mine show up high. Just me you understand...not yours. I do better if I have protein late, if I'm not hungry late.

I read in your post that it takes really a long long time for fasting to slowly go down. i had two questions- 1) how slow is slow? 2) if i dont have dinner at night (as i was not hungry) and check my fasting, does it make sense that it will be higher than usual? After the huge pizza, soda, sub meal my fasting next day was 111 while today after not having dinner yday (just 8-10 grapes), my fasting was 114! Small portions of grapes and oranges dont seem to raise my BG much.

I'm always interested in someone who is managing this with only diet and exercise. You're 72, what do you do for exercise? I think the diet is actually more important, though. I hope you let us all know how you got your numbers so low. I'm in the same boat as you, but much younger (got high A1C's, switched to LCHF, no meds, no insulin, lost about 25 lbs so far, pretty close to ideal weight now).

About the same as yesterday. I was able to sleep last night with no pain meds which was really good. I am having some twinges down the nerve today which is unsettling, but they did say I might have some pain for a couple of days so it may just be that. Nothing so far that would send me to take a pain pill so keeping my fingers crossed.

    Thanks for asking!

    Hi Pat,

    No problem!

Aside from the unrelenting pain, I'm fine. It makes me cry sometimes it hurts so much. No dark abyss here!! Really! That was a long time ago, 15 years, shortly after my husband passed away.

I am a little concerned I may have a bad disc as this unending pain is the same I had in my arm when I had a ruptured disc in my neck! I had fusion at C-6/C-7 and the pain was gone immediately! It was almost magical. Just one more night to get through. I see the dr at 2:45 tomorrow.

Thanks for your concern Pat, I really am OK!!

    Hi Pat,
FYI I just got news from U.C.Berkeley that I have cleared the final exam for the course on Nutrition that I was doing.

Some months ago, in a thread, you had expressed your doubts / reservation that I could / would actually do it. Hence the P.M

    Healthy Regards,
    Shyam
