- About TheQuicks
- We are David & Christina Quick. We were married on 10-10-10. Together we have 4 wonderfull children. Dannie (12), Lizzie (11), Stephie (10) and Willie (7). We have our puppy Charlie, he is mini dapple dauchshund and black lab..he is 10 months. We also have 2 red eared sliders who are Herbert and Bonnie they are 3 years old. We also have our cockatiels Scotty & Neelix and our finches Luke (zebra finch) and Bennie (society finch).
We are dedicated parents and couple. We believe in God and are not ashamed to show it and teach our children the same. BUT we also teach respect and thoughtfulness of others religion and an open mind.
We both enjoy playing a few online games but mostly we enjoy going out widow shopping and for nature walks (though I hate the ticks that try to come home with us, uck much! LOL)
We love movies and family time, we are the people with enough boardgames and cardgames to open our own store and we USE them! LOL!
The center of our world is our children. Which alot of people don't get and some really don't like. But thats ok, they will get over it :) They take up 99% of our time, lol!
I (Chrissie) will be the main one on the forum as I am more the chatterbox..but David will make an appearance here and there :)

- Your experiences with diabetes
- David has been diagnosed with type 2 and is on Metformin 1000 and the generic of Amaryl, as last month his BG soared up to a scary 500 at times and would not go below 270. We are very careful with his diet and I follow his diet with him so he is not alone in it. We are still in the learning stages and are educating ourselves as much as possible to keep him healthy as he is my everything and I plan on growing quite old and wrinkled with him :)
For David both his sister and his father have diabetes so we thought we were pretty well prepared until he was diagnosed and we realized how unprepared we really were. It can be frustrating but were educating ourselves daily.
For me, my Uncle Gene had diabetes and he either did not or could not care for himself as he should. Before he passed he had suffered from severe dementia and Alzheimers type symptoms and had his feet and one of his legs amputated.
He was like a father to me and was the only man besides David whom I had even been close too...He passed in 1996, So It makes me even more gungho at keeping close tabs on my poor overloved husband :)
- Mr. Incredible: No matter how many times you save the world, it always manages to get back in jeopardy again. Sometimes I just want it to stay saved! You know, for a little bit? I feel like the maid; I just cleaned up this mess! Can we keep it clean for... for ten minutes!
