- My diagnosis came as a shock. However, in retrospect, I should not have been surprising. For a little over a month I was dehydrated and pissing out everything that went into my body. Finally, I got so sick (after having a huge vanilla smoothie...big NO NO) that I was hospitalized.
I was released into the world of Diabetes and placed on Metformin and Glipizide (to get my sugars down). Now, I feel better than I did pre-diagnosis due to my lifestyle change.
I still have my ups and downs about being diabetic. I hate this condition. It is like having a retarded monkey on your back. In order to keep the monkey acting civil you have to constantly nurture and pet it or else risk it going beserk and ruining everything...
I haven't gotten use to my index finger being a pin cushion and I am still mourning Snickers.
Otherwise, it is my intention to live a long complication free life through healthy living...and I am still trying to cultivate a positive attitude in regards to this.
