You're already going the right way about catching me up - your weight loss in particular is amazing - give it a few more months!

My lipid profile remains ok, but I've still got a bit of a strange number in my LDL - It stayed at 142. Neither Judy nor I can see any particular reason for it and to be quite honest, I'm not convinced that the LDL figure reported is at all significant when it comes to cardio-vascular disease so I refuse to worry over it. My triglycerides remain nice and low at 71 against my HDL which is a disappointing 96 as against 103 last time.

All in all - we're happy.

    Good luck,

    John

No. But then I haven't seen one since 2007. Socially if I've spoken about LC/HF to anyone from the medical/pharma line, they all think i've lost it & i'm going to die sooner than destined

Yes and most of them simply don't care beyond writing pills. It's pathetic. I am exploring the possibilities of talking with "jiva.com" as their telemed docs are more sensible. I have been following the health talk shows of their founder on various channels and find him sensible.

I'll be posting two extra graphs shortly - 1 hour and 2 hour Post Prandial readings for 2011 - for what they're worth

Re your comment on the graph-
Nope - that's just fasting figures. The two above 100 are the values taken when I got my HbA1c in August and November and that's why the total of reading is more than 365.

I don't have a full set of post meal figures for the year as I stopped taking them as routine in about April. Those I did take after that were because I suspected a problem. Usually I was right, so the numbers are a bit skewed to the high side.

Tony, apologies again for taking so long to respond. This time my excuse is vacation-related (Florida!), and the iPhone/iPad apps for this forum just don't give me the same abilities to read/post/like etc, so I don't even bother checking the site until I get back onto a regular computer.

Wanted to at least mention, in case you were interested...I do think they have an A1c monitor that's just like your regular bg monitor, in case you wanted to have more frequent DIY readings. I can't speak for their reliability or accuracy, but they are out there and may be of interest to you. I plan on speaking with my endo about them when I see her next month, to see if they're worth the trouble and expense. Then again, if I'm in the fives like I plan to be by then, getting the A1c meter might be pointless, as I will have achieved my goal and will know that I'll be able to stay there as long as I keep my regular bg numbers consistent...

Hi Tony, thanks for your message I'm working hard to get those numbers down so pleased with the results so far - still lots of work to do tho, but you and everyone else on the forums are great inspiration and very motivating My next A1c will be in Feb, so i'll have my fingers crossed for a much better number! Good luck to you!
