Default Hello

Hello, my name is TG. I got diabetes type 2 in 2010 and took Metformin until Dr got me off the diabetes pills 3 1/2 months ago after I lose over 170 lbs. My latest hemoglobin exam result is 5.1 last week.

Welcome, TG. Wow, 170 lbs? Good for you! What a remarkable story. I hope you hang with us to encourage new comers. How did you do it?

Glad to meet you,

What a great weight loss and HbA1c result. No wonder your doctor took you off Metformin. Can you share your secret?

Breakfast: High protein meal replacement bar
Lunch: Grilled chicken Salad then walked for over 1 hour. Sometimes for 2 hours.
Dinner: Diabetic Nutrition shake (the reason I drink shake for dinner is because I don't need a big meal before bed).
Time to time: I use stairs instead of using elevators where stairs is available. I use diet soda. I drink water. Watch out for carbs. My dietian just told me that I can now have up to 60 carbs but I am still nervous about increasing my carbs because I don't want diabetes to come back to me.

I'd be wary for sure. What is your current # of carbs?

Curious minds want to know!

Good luck,

Breakfast: 19 carbs
Lunch: 21
Dinner: 21 before doctor got me off the diabetes pills.

Today, for breakfast, still 19 carbs, lunch is about 50 (I had subway's cold cuts wheat bread).

Dinner: I plan to finish the 6 foot subway from lunch and the carb will be 50. (this is my first time to try this today). I just tested my blood sugar after three hours lunch, it is 92 which is under 140.
