Hello all, just wanted to intoduce myself. My name is Wes & i am a personal trainer who has type 1 diabetes.
I am 32 years old & have had diabetes since i was 5.
Throughout life i have always been involved sports & as i grew older became involved in fitness competitions etc.
I have basically spent my life studying nutrition & dicovering the optimal way to live with diabetes whilst performing at a high level.
Luckily now i have a business that allows me to work with other diabetics type 1 & 2 & guide them in the right direction in regards to exercise & nutrition.
Look forward to sharing stories with everyone here.

Hello Wes, welcome! I admire your being a physical fitness instructor for other diabetics. I workout at a gym three days per week, and it is helping me very much.

I was diagnosed in 1945, when I was 6. After 66 years with type 1, I am very healthy. I read a recent article that said the life expectancy of type 1 diabetics diagnosed in recent years is almost as good as that of non diabetics.

Thanks for your participation on Diabetes Forum.

I have been Type 1 for 73 years. My A1c is 6.2. I pump with the MM 630, and I am using the Dexcom G5.

Hi and
A type 1 on Levemir and Novorapid here. I work in a gym too but in the reception and in the office, not a trainer. I exercise a fair amount and like to try different things but as for exercising with diabetes I learn as I go along (soon 3 years since diagnosis).
Really looking forward to taking advantage of your expertice!

as suspected: too sweet for my own good
