Hi! everybody I'm roy......48 yrs /Male,
Suffering from Diabetes for a long time .. on medicine for last 4 years. It remain within control for sometimes but of recent things have gone haywire .. taking glimeperide 4mg tab in the morning with vogilbose 0.2 two times and a metformin tab in the night. However the fasting sugar not coming below 150 and the PP remains arounf 150-160. Exercise/ dieting also was not of much help. I hope their would be someone in the forum who can advise me if anything else I may try. I'm of course consulting my Doc always. Actually I hate to take so many medicines I want to do something holistic for improving the condition.

I'm happy to join this fraternity.

Love you all

roy

Hello Roy, welcome aboard! Have you tried Byetta? Some Type 2's have had good success with it. There are several Type 2 meds but I am a Type 1 so I am not giing to give any advice on meds. Tupe 2 diabetes is progressive and when meds no longer work insulin is prescribed. There are many Type 2's using insulin and I know several who are using insulin pumps and they have excellent control. I hope your doctor will know what to do. An increased dosage of your present med, a new med supplementing Metformin or , if necessary, insulin. Good luck to you!

Richard

Hi Roy,

How's your diet? I'm taking 1000mg metformin (500 morning, 500 evening) 2000mg Vitamin C and 2000mg cinnimon in addition to exercise, a lot of water and strict diet control.

Six months into being diagnosed my sugar levels have stayed between 80 and 110 with occasional spikes to 130.

Hi Amit! Are you from Kolkata? If yes, I can suggest you some great Drs, as I am myself in the pharma industry & also a diabetic.

Hey Roy,

As long as the medications are working you should stick with them. If you really want to use more natural methods consult your doctor to see if you can try a diabetic diet. This will no eliminate your need for all medications but may make the disease more manageable.
