Default mentally denying but im already had it ~

Hye all.. Im eddy from Malaysia.
Im very concern about diabetes as i already had it since last year, and im kinda denying it and didnt go for diagnose, even i myself knew it already had the symptoms.

Last year i tried my moms glucose test strip and BCG, my readings is 22.. what a shock!!
Currently the reading is 19 but still i really not cool with it..

The main reason i joined this forum and community is to learn and to know what im suppose to do and understand and aware of, because i dont know anything about this and hoping that this community helps.. im so depressed..

thanks,..

Sure glad you joined our gang. Your going to have to let go of the denial, denial is not your friend, it's a sneaky enemy that can't be trusted. Your BG is still high, is there anyway you can limit your sources of carbs in your diet.

Welcome to the forum.

You will find the support you are seeking here. As you read through the threads, you'll find it common to start out as you have. And then as they learn more they gain good control over diabetes. One can live a good life even with diabetes.

We like to direct new people to this site to get a good education of what diabetes is and how to get their blood sugar down to normal levels. Blood Sugar 101 I hope you spend some time reading on that site. And then over here you can ask all the questions you have.

The most important thing about diabetes is that it is carbohydrates that raise blood sugar. The logical thing to do is to reduce your consumption of them. If you do this, you'll find that your BG will go down. The fewer carbs you eat, the lower your BG will be.

Hi, I am from Singapore your neighour country. When you said 22 and 19, do you mean fasting sugar or post meal? If fasting, it is definitely too high while.post meal at that level is also very high but could be due to food you eat at meal time. I notice rice can give very high bs both fasting and two hrs post meal after some experiments on my own. after giving up rice for some times my blood sugar has since returned to normal. Suggest you give rice a miss for two days and use the meter to retest again to see how low it can go down.
Btw welcome to this multinational forum! I hope you

Many of us have trouble with bread, even wholegrain bread. Is there something with less carbohydrates that you could eat for breakfast or lunch?

I don't eat bread at all anymore. I discovered that it caused my blood sugar to spike. You might find that if you either reduce the amount at each meal or have it at only one meal, your blood sugar will improve. If not, try eliminating bread completely for 3 or 4 weeks and see if that makes any difference.

What kind of fruit are you eating? Berries usually don't raise blood sugar as much as some other types.

Hi Eddy, I suggest you get a glucose meter and measure your blood sugar diligently for a start despite taking metformin to gauge the type of foods that can give you the bs spike. By taking medicine without knowing your sugar level may also result in hypoglycemia at times which can swing your problem to another extreme. Yup will in touch with if I were to go to kk. Good luck and happy lunar new year.
