Default Hi!

Hi, I'm Phil and I am a Type 2 Diabetic. I was diagnosed in 2009 after being told I was Prediabetic in about 2006...which I basically ignored much to my detriment. I had the relatively rare opportunity to start with an A1c of about 13.0 - not the highest I have read about, but still way too high. I am now down to a 6.1...not bad with minimal meds. Somewhere along the line I have become angry as the lack of information widely available about Diabetes and have declared war on it. The numbers of Diabetics in the United States and Worldwide is criminal! Anyway, I used three basic tools to get my glucose down - Diet, exercise and meds. It worked! I hope to be a good member of the forum. Thanks.

Hi Phil,

You got it, you're in the introduction section!! Welcome!!

You are so right, it is terribly frustrating that there is so little good information out there for diabetics. And appalling that so many dr's have seem to have no clue!! Those of us that are taking control and having success have to be the voices out there in the wilderness and spread the word.

There is one really good source for info on diabetes, either the ebook or online, BloodSugar101. I just wish there was some way to get it out to all diabetics!!

Looks like you have a good handle on your diabetes and a very positive attitude, which helps a lot too. Looking forward to getting to know you better.

Glad you found us!

Welcome Phil - good to have you with us.

Like you, I had high DX numbers, and consider that some sort of odd blessing. It surely gets our attention doesn't it?

Good job on bringing your numbers down!
