Oh, BINGO, another common interest. Got 3 kids, one with autism, one ADHD, and one seemingly NT (I will not uncross my fingers till she has graduated from college!!!).

Post-it tags can also help -- I agree though, eventually you will want your own -- but a first read also helps!

Hello mdowens, welcome! I have read about so many people online who say they are not sure what type of diabetes they have. It is very important that your type be determined. An endocrinologist should know the appropriate tests to diagnose your type. Then the best possible treatment can be prescribed. You may need a combination of insulin and medications. I am type 1 with a pump, but I also have insulin resistance, like a type 2, so I have used a type 2 med called Metformin. That combination has worked very well for me. Not all doctors would be able to correctly diagnose you, so a good endocrinologist may be needed.

You have come to the right place. I am a picky eater among picky eaters so I know what you mean about finding things you will eat. There are some good items in the recipes forum but lots of Yuck also... cauliflower popcorn -- UG... -- My wife is a veterinarian so she constantly works on my diet with little success. But lots of good suggestion in the forum that you can modify to your taste -- try the cheese muffins and add 100% cocoa or unsweetened shredded coconut ...

As for compliance and just comming around to managing the disease -- My personal opinion is that there is a genetic bit to this disease that makes you non-compliant. We all know what to do but getting to that point and staying with it is always a struggle.

You made the best step you could by finding this forum as there are a lot of knowledgeable and helpful people here ready to help -- read a lot and ask lots of questions...

Maybe, but you really should get a copy and make notes on a separate notepad for now. Don't let yourself make up excuses for not getting the info you need right now!
