Smoking is bad for your overall health. If you decide to smoke then you must understand that it affects your entire body. I try not to judge people who choose to smoke or drink. It is a very personal decision.

Unfortunately there is no one solution to stop smoking. Everyone is different. Some people can stop smoking by "cold turkey", others can use stop smoking aids such as the nicotine patch or there are new medications out that you can take that can help with the urge to smoke. Some people go through hypnosis. Not everyone can stop smoking at their first attempt. First and most important, you must want to stop smoking for yourself first.

Quitting smoking is a very difficult thing and for someone that has never had that addiction its hard for them to understand. I quit smoking once for 2 years and then started again. I could kick myself for starting again but I was very stressed out at that time and seemed like a good idea at the time *sigh*. I still need to stop and I know I do. I will get to it eventually. For now I am finally getting my diabetes under control and losing some weight that I really needed to lose. I figure I will tackle smoking eventually. But I can only work on one demon at a time without going insane

The patches are supposed to be effective. I tried them but they actually burned my skin so I couldnt use them. There is a medication that is supposed to be very effective in helping you stop smoking,. When I am ready to tackle that issue I am going to ask my MD about prescribing it for me.

onaughma absolutely right, in this case we should be against the evil of ourselves, we must fight our own vices, it might be an alternative way I will try to buy a ebook about the guides to stop smoking, which has been given by my friend. he tried it and she said she managed to quit smoking,

I am one of the ones who was able to stop cold turkey. Part of that was because I couldn't afford to buy the cigarettes. At any rate, I just never lit up another one, and that was 26 years ago when I was 39 years old. But I gained weight, which is only now coming off since I started eating a low carb diet for my diabetes. Y'win some, y'lose some, right?
