How about we start over with a fresh slate? You all know who I am. Things are looking better from my point of view here.

A big apology to anyone I hurt in my first thread. Why I did that is beyond me as I am generally a really nice guy.

February looks to be a good month. I'm still eating around 125 carbs a day by my BS levels have yet to get about 159.

Thanks for all of the support and advice. I appreciate it.

Kona you will find what works, you may not like hearing about low carb but many have lost a lot of weight using that. The weight loss then reduces the bgl and you win twice. Hope you are able to buy foods that can help you, you are working at it you might even not need meds one day its happened to many.

Sounds like a good plan Terry. Every day is part of the puzzle. Just set your goals and you will get there but by bit.

Hey Kona,

I have been traveling recently so I have missed lots ..

Anyway Welcome !!!!

I see you are cutting carbs slowly and that is okay. The main goal for me is to stay below 140 BG. So I went pretty agressively at carbs cutting of course my BH had lots to do with it too.

Here is the deal I love healthy dietic fats; butter, avocados, nuts, eggs, cheese and bacon to name a few.

Well I also loved bread, milk, cake pies, cerals, fruits and beans. (Cut those)

I cut my carbs to less than 30 grams daily and increased the good fats, and low and behold I was not hungry 2 hours after eating. My wife is a salad freak so we do lots of those with fish and chicken.

I had got up to 60 units daily of Lantus (no bolus meds) now I am down to 50 units (2X25 daily).

It is a challenge to find what work best but LCHF has worked best for me. I think I am still losing about 1 lb per week, but that is secondary to keeping BGs <140.

Good Luck,
gman diabetic diver

As long as you accept us for what WE are and aren't constantly criticizing us because we use a plan which actually lowers our blood sugar to safe ranges. Not just 'okay', but safe. Under 140 at all times. If you don't want such low levels, go for it, but don't harp on us for wanting it and GETTING it.

It is not your place to come in here and start educating us to the ADA protocol. We've already tried that, and we have no patience with it.

Fair enough? We are not like other forums and as you say, we all know you - only too well.

We're working to get the signature graphic working again, and that would be the best place to update.

So it's OK to post here to talk about how I'm doing from time to time? Even about things not BS level related?

Terry, go to The Lounge forum and there is a sticky for " what was your blood fasting sugar reading today" many of us use to post to. Also the Lounge is a good place to discuss whatever.
