Hi Stephanie! Welcome - you chose a wonderful community to join. I was diagnosed about a month ago, and finding these forums, and the people that post here, was a blessing. Great advice, lots of encouragement, and ther're always ready to listen. So I'm sure you will find the support and answers that you need.

Hi Stephanie... I too had gestational diabetes with my second son. But it happened in the third trimester, the eighth month that's why I never took any meds for it.

Hi Stephanie. I am 54 and was diagnosed as a Type 2 diabetic almost 3 months ago. I have 4 children and had GD in the last 2 pregnancies. The first time it was picked up at 28 weeks, the second time at 15 weeks. Both times I managed it with diet only. Somehow the fact that I needed to protect my babies gave me all the motivation I needed. It took 16 years for it to come back so I was pretty lucky. I am trying to find the same strength now because I want to lead a long healthy life and see my grandchildren!
