Default Forum Newbie - Looking for Guidance!

Hello everyone! I am new to the site and am excited to be apart of the discussion. My wife is pregnant and has gestational diabetes. I'd like to hear your suggestions on diet. What is/is not appropriate to eat?

Usually while you are pregnant they want to keep your bgs fairly low. Did they give her a bg range to stay within. Also, is she on insulin or any other meds? I would think it is important to eat very healthy, natural foods. If she is not on insulin I would watch the carbs especially the processed ones. I try to eat as many real foods as possible. Lots of times the added preservatives and chemicals play havoc with our bg. Does she have a bg meter. I would suggest she test 2 hours after meal and then adjust diet depending on bgs ranges she was given. I think eating protein ( meat, eggs, fish (occasionly), cheese, lots of veggies and some lower carb fruits like berries. I would cut back on bread, cereal, rice, potatoes and pasta in order to keep bgs low.
