Hi Everyone

welcome Rosebud :) it's probably a good idea to discuss it with your doc if you haven't already done so. There are a few conditions you can get... I'm thinking it could be either neuropathy or restless leg syndrome that you have... but I'm no doc. I occasionally get nerve pain in my foot at night... usually with covers on... take the cover off and I'm fine. But I do notice if my BGL is higher that's when I get the pain. So keeping BGLs down is the key to making yourself feel better. Sometimes it's hard to do though if unwell. Are you on any meds to control your diabetes at all? If you're on metformin at all it depletes you of magnesium which can of course give you muscle cramps... take a supplement. You've come to the right place for support and info. Keep us posted on how you're doing.

I found 600 mg of alpha-lopaic (SP) acid twice a day helped with the burning feet

Are you getting enough: Calcium, Magnesium, and Potassium?

I realized after my first Charley Horse, EVER (at age almost-54!) that I had skipped my whey protein shakes all week -- and they are a big source of all 3 ... almonds are good for Mg, too!

I like designer whey but my husband likes Gold Standard -- which is cheap and readily available locally. Read labels of course ...
