New to this forum

Hi,
My name is Crystal, I live in Washington state. I hate to admit it but I have been Type 2 for about 4 or 6 years. And basically ignored it. I was able to get some good A1C's to satify my doctor but all of a sudden my A1C was 11.2.
As of May 16th, I have been serious about controlling it. I started following Jorge Cruise The Belly Fat Cure, 15 grams of sugar per day and 6 servings of carbs which would be up to 120 grams.
I take 2.5 mg of Glyburide. Need to lose about 50 lbs.
I have had some pretty good numbers, but would like them to be better and eventually stop taking the meds.
So far I have found some fantastic info on this forum and will continue
to visit.
:o Crystal

Welcome to the forum - and congratulations on deciding to kick some diabetes butt :)

This is a great place: people, info, support - glad you've joined us.

You CAN do it, and welcome to this nifty group of kind brothers and sisters. You might want to read the recipe thread and our archives for good ideas.

Pull up a chair and tell us even more about you and remember the only dumb question is one not asked!

Oooo I love that. So very true.

Welcome Crystal. Good for you getting to the point where you want to control the big D. This forum is a wealth of information and support. I don't know where I'd be without it particularly in the days just after my DX. I think one of the most important things when you have diabetes is encouragement because its so easy to stray from the path of good health as it can be so very restrictive. All the best.

Thanks everyone :)

Welcome from a north sounder

I wondered what part of Washington you were. There are a couple of members in Seattle as well.
