Default Insulin Limit?

Hi,
I'm a type 1 diabetic. I live in India currently. I will travel to the US soon to work. My stay will be long probably a couple of years. This is my first time to US. I've a few questions that I'm looking answers for:

1. Is there any limit on the amount of insulin that I will carry with me? (I plan to purchase vials for an year)

2. What is the usual procedure to buy insulin vials in the US?

3. Is my Indian prescription enough to buy insulin vials in the US?

4.What is the cost of a single vial of Lantus, Humalog Mix?

As I am not in the USA I can't say anything about your last three questions but I would caution you that it's my understanding that insulin, unless stored in a refrigerator, has a shelf life of around one month.

The response to your other questions will be heavily influenced by where in the USA your employment takes you. Do you have those details?

American Diabetes Association's web site has a lot of information on insulin availability and prescription requirements in US.
