Post Hello!

I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes in 2014 while pregnant with my beautiful and healthy baby girl! I managed my diabetes by diet alone. It was the hardest thing I've ever done. 6 tiny bland meals a day, hormones raging all over the place, my ever growing backside and all I wanted was a chocolate milkshake

I joined this forum not for myself but to ask questions regarding my hateful mother-in-law that refuses to admit that she needs help managing her diabetes. She is type 1 - diagnosed at a very young age and she has VERY unhealthy habits that are going to get someone hurt or killed.

I've made a different post under "Diabetes Complications" regarding the most recent situation and I would really appreciate any feeback you guys can give me. I am at my wits end here and I really need help to deal with this woman.

I certainly don't know how to help you with your mother-in-law but for yourself I would recommend reading as much as you can on the Blood Sugar 101 site. Having had gestational diabetes increases your risk of developing type 2 down the road. The knowledge you can get from that site and this forum can help you prevent it. Good luck and welcome to the forum.
