I have heard from others that it's not uncommon to have problems with your blood sugar levels for your entire period, not just the days before. If your diet, exercise or sleep patterns are different that week, it would explain it though with all the hormonal changes, I think that's excuse enough.

Try tracking this for the next couple months and see if a pattern emerges.

Oh what a joy it is being a woman -_- this occasional rise every month (if that's what ends up happening) isn't going to screw my entire process of working on bettering my insulin sensitivity is it?
Thank you for some measurement that this is common!

Still higher readings :/ I don't get it... what can I do? Only thing I've added to my diet and Stevia sweetener to my coffees but still, it's only maybe half a packet. Today FBG was 112!

Not to give you permission to continue those FBG readings but mine was 138 this morning, 95 by lunch time, and I consider 138 on the low side of my FBG readings. I'm always in the grip of Dawn Phenomena!

Fasting BG is the most difficult to control A lot depends on, as you've discovered, hormones, the previous day's protein consumption, how much sleep you got, the phases of the moon, etc. etc. And, even if your FBG is in the 110s, that's still WAY below upper "safe" limit, so it's not all that bad, really.

Diabetes management isn't a straight line - there's always ups and downs along the way. You've only been at this for less than a month! Give yourself a break.

And, another point - it is the post meal BG levels that will reflect your efforts much moreso than FBG. What have they been? Are they still in the 80s and 90s?

They aren't in the 80s like they were, no they are below 120 for are after an hour though and usually low 100 to mid 90s 2 hours after. I see what you mean though, how variables affect it all. Maybe I'm eating something I shouldn't be. Last night i was at 87 a few hours after dinner. I guess I'm just disappointed. I was doing soooo good them my period came a week late then bam... Bye bye steady levels. I wonder if my hormones are just screwy normally, or if the new chance in diet and exercise is causing my hormones to get wonky for a bit ... Guess we will find out next month

That's so crazy! I notice my numbers are lower after lunch than they are before... Or before breakfast... This is so silly and wonky! What a rollercoaster for everyone! And not a fun one
