Jan 2016 fasting glucose 131, AC1 6.3 but the MD wants to watch and retest the AC1 in May. Mean while I had to buy my own monitor. I also started making my already good diet, changed to LCMPHF and would test a few times per week. One day I tried a test on 1/2 cup oatmeal. Fasting 93, 1 hour 170, 2 hours 198. No oatmeal for me. March 2016 woke with blue hands and feet, Ice cold. Raynaud's he said. But ordered blood work and my glucose was 93. But was encouraged to stop eating the way I was, when I asked for help to find a way to increase my calories due to the fact I weight 107. Thank you for listening to me. It feels good writing this.

Sorry to hear of your challenges!

Balancing conflicting diets is a pain. I didn't do a thorough review but it looks like some people have found relief by eliminating some foods from their diets - so you may need to do some research to find out what works - there is almost certainly a Raynaud's forum out there somewhere that could point you in the right direction!

As for gaining weight, I can eat an almost unlimited quantity of cheese or almonds . . .

Welcome SweetCarrot

I'm sorry you've developed Raynaud's - (looked it up and it appears to be something that could be very annoying). But it does appear that you have hit upon a good way to treat your developing diabetes - LCHF, which you will find that many of us here follow.

If you are underweight, you might want to consider increasing your calories. You don't need to eat carbs to do this - just increase portions. Dr. Bernstein (Diabetes Solutions) says that increasing protein will cause some weight gain. I know if I over-indulge in nuts I'll gain weight.

Have you found Blood Sugar 101 yet? It's a really good site that presents accurate information about diabetes that we recommend.

BloodSugar 101 is a great reference. I have been researching foods trying to find calories without the carbs increase. I have my feet in wool socks wrapped in survival blanket, then in slipper. The blankets helps a lot. Hand doing somewhat better after a week fingers don't like the cold of iPad or a keyboard. Learning things.
