Default Reintroduction

Since I haven't posted or visited recently, decided to do a reintroduction. Not sure how long I've been gone, nor do I know the reasons why I haven't been around.

I've managing the diabetes just fine. Only insulin, insulin pump, is needed.

It's the complications that's killing me. As some of you Last April I had a full blown heart attaack, 100% of the LAD which left me with 40% heart damage but I was able to exercise and my heart is strong enough to handle the load. AT the time, this event caused my kidneys to fail. They started working with little lasting damage.

This April, I had a urinary tract infection that I wasn't aware of. Had started a new medication and decided it was making me nauseaous. So I had stopped taking it but the nauseaous feeling wouldn't go away and I was throwing up black liquid that I didn't realize it was blood. I had one of these "epiphaniy" where I decided I would go to the ER. I didn't even realize I was that sick. It took 3 days to get the full diagnoses of Septis ecoli infection from a simple urinary tract infection.
Then the race to save my life. Since I'm not aware of infections, I now get up and take my temperature. Not sure if it ill really help decide if I have an infection. During this "event" my kidney's failed. The specialist said that my kidneys are good, no protein, but the markers are higher and puts me into Stage 3 kidney failure. I asked the doctor's how many "events" will it take or them to completely fail and no answer. I ought to feel blessed that my body doesn't feel pain, but really pain is an indication that something is terribly wrong and I never know.

So now I'm seeing the kidney specialist and a urologist, along ith the opthalmologist, retinologist, PCP, endocrinologist, and cardiologist. Not sure how I'm going to pay all those co pays.

My eyes, after 3 lucentis shots in each eye, and two laser treatments is only miminally improved. I'll find out more in 4 months. Seems like takes laser treatments long to see improvment,

I missed you guys so much. I'll try to participant more.

Welcome back Roxanne. Sorry to hear of the added problems, but so glad you are back. There have been many a posts where something was asked and I thought of you. No one gives a better, concise, easier to understand, response to some things than one from someone having experienced it.

Praying for a healthier rest of the year for you.

Think I've had this since 2003. Told I was Type 2 lean on 2/13/12.
