Default high blood sugar

I had an epideral to help relieve pain from a back injury. My sugar has gone up. Any natural suggestions on bringing it down?

Also, any suggestions on moderate exercise? I know i need to but I'm being honest when I say I hate it.

Thank you

Sometimes when we have an injury bgs will go up because of the inflammation. Sometimes medications and pain killers contain chemicals that make our bgs even higher. Sometimes it is just a temporary spike. How high have you been spiking? As far as exercise if you have an injury please ask your doctor, you don't want to make anything worse. Once you are healed you might want to start with some theraputic yoga or some easy walking.

I wouldn't exercise with that high bs. How do you normally manage your bs and what do your numbers normally run? Are you T1 or T2? Insulin?

Do you have a general practitioner or an endocrinologist helping you manage your diabetes? I would suggest calling him/her.

What is your diet like? If you are eating a lot of carbs they work just like sugar. I have found cutting flour, bread, rice, potatoes, oatmeal, most fruit like most of the others eating LCH worked for my husband who is Type2. I feed him lots of eggs and bacon, meat and lots of green veggies.

I have just recently changed my diet. I am watching carbs and eating more green. I was told bacon wasn't good for you and oatmeal was recommended which i don't like. What fruits are bad for you?

Speaking as a vegetarian (ahem!), bacon good, oatmeal TERRIBLE!

Only fruits I consume are squash, cucumber, tomato, eggplant ... and measure those.

Insulin is the the most natural thing I can think of. That and going for a walk everyday will help a lot.

One exercise you can do is to just talk a lazy slow stroll around the block. Nothing fast, try not to even breath hard or break a sweat. I did this while in the hospital for DKA. Took a week and my numbers began dropping and stabilizing.

Key is to move, but move SLOWLY!!!!

You don't mention any diabetes meds, are you on any? Those are high bgs. What did your bgs run before your injury? Are you taking any type of steroid drugs. They will spike bgs for awhile.
