Default New to social media

I'm well experienced as a Type 1 diabetic but a new iPad has opened a whole new unknown world. I look forward to joining the forum and this new experience. I'm 66, recently widowed. Use Lantus & Humalog. Have a Dexcom CGM that has changed my life. Hope some of you can help me navigate the site.

Hi Kate, welcome! You are using very good insulins and the best CGM currently available in the US. You can get many questions answered here, so ask anything you want.

I am also type 1, diagnosed in 1945, when I was 6. I am very healthy. You can have a long, healthy life if you adjust to all this and have good control. Diabetes is an annoying disease, but it CAN be controlled.

Richard

Hello & welcome, Kate. Anything you can't figure out, just ask - we aren't all whiz kids on computer, but there are enough of those here to keep things humming!

Welcome to another iPad user. Like the forum app but has a couple of little niggles. Very convenient though.
I am a new T1 (9 months) and just using Lantus and lchf. Still on honeymoon I am told. Lol now if she was just cute and not Diabetes.
Enjoy the people here. Nice bunch of loonies which is why I feel at home here.

Shanny and moon like this.

The first thing I had to figure out was how to post a response to all of you. Let's see if this works.

Yay - you did it! I love my iPad too - a real life changing device. I love finding new apps for it. I recently downloaded a free one called wave sense that lets you record your blood sugars and display them all different ways. I have quit using the forum app for this forum, though - it just seems as easy to get here on Safari, and the layout seems better that way. Glad you are here!

Hi,

I was curious to know have you, or anybody else started using other sites or Apps. I am not aware of too many.

The sites I use are this forum and Blood Sugar 101. Since I don't have a smart phone, I don't know sic 'em about apps.

I use the apps calorie king for carb counts. Used to use diabetes buddy to track BGs when doing MDIs. I have a couple of other forum apps. Won't mention them here. This one is by far my favorite forum app and most favorite forum
