Hi All!
I am a type 2 AA male 75 years young. I have been DX since 1994 but probably type two since 1986 or so. I am blessed not to have any significant complications, which I attribute to the endo that DX me putting me on insulin right away. A s a result I still make plenty insulin and am not unaware when my blood glucose levels fall. In 2008 I got a Medtronic 7xx pump and was able to pull my A1c down from double digits to 5.9 and in the years since below 7. Nov of this year I got a Dexcom G5 which i monitor with my iphone, :vs_cool: and I love it, it seems to work great for me it has enabled me to pull my A1c back down around 5.5 or so and gives me great comfort to know that it is "watching " me at night. I plan on getting the Tandem Tslim in a couple of months and mateting that with the Dexcom. I look forward to Tandem coming out with a closed loop protocol soon. I need to learn more about closed loop systems.
