Default Im Back!

Back by sugary demand! so glad I remembered this site. I was a member about 6 years ago and enjoyed the support and friendships I made back then. I used to be bryan42 at that time.

I just went for my 3 month A1C and it was not good (9.2). Also, I lost my wife back in May of this year, so the eating right went out the window. I am sad a lot but Im getting serious about my sugar now, and looking forward to learning from all of you. My house is now full of healthy stuff, and I started walking daily, because I must get my number down. Thank you guys!

Welcome back, Bryan!

I'm so sorry you lost your wife a few months ago. That's a tough road to have to walk. I can understand that eating well was not first and foremost.

But you're back. I'm sure you'll find (again) the help and support you're looking for. This site has been invaluable to me both in a technical sense and also as a bunch of virtual friends with whom I can empathize. Looking forward to your posts...

Hi Bryan and welcome back. I am sorry for your loss.

As you probably know, now really is a good time to take control of your diabetes as you have a lot of living to do. I found this website in April of 2015. At that time my A1c had crept up into the high 7's, which scared me. For me one of the two best 'motivators' are fear and pain. I decided to learn all I could about the Low Carb High Fat lifestyle. The rest is history.....

Since then my A1c has been between 5.8 and 6.4! I have slipped off the wagon a couple of times, but only for a short time, always coming back to where I am happiest....living LCHF! Over these years my weight has now dropped continually (70lbs - 320 - 250)! This has changed my life and waste line, not to mention my low blood pressure (100/70 on average), I have reduced my daily injection of Lantus from 126u down to 25u, etc, etc. etc. I feel like a new person at 68!

Glad you are back and focusing on LCHF....Good Luck!

Welcome back Bryan. It is understandable that taking care of oneself in a time of grief becomes a lower priority. Glad you have been able to refocus on your health.

I was fairly new here back then. I think you will find that this is still a place to come for support (on most anything) and a place to vent about anything, when you can find no other.

Welcome back Bryan. My deepest sympathies to you and your family.

I joined last year, and I love it here. I hope you continue to post.
