Default Greetings To Everybody,

I have been a T1 diabetic as a child 36 years ago and I am on 5 daily injections of Humalog and Levemir, I also use the Freestyle Libre sensors with the NFC on my phone.

I used to use the Medtronic pump from 2012 to 2018 but my control has improved tremendously since going back on injections, but with Levemir and humalog as opposed to Lantus and Novorapid.

I am looking forward to communicating with other people with diabetes and sharing tips and advice.

Hi Shimmer, welcome to the forum. Glad to meet you. Kudos to you for getting better control of your BG.

Type 2 here. Even though there are differences, there is still much to share about BG control. Looking forward to your posts.

Hi Shimmer,

I'm a Type 1 as well - in my 53 rd year of living with it. I recently switched my Basil from Lantus to Tresiba and noticed a significant improvement (so far).

I have never used the pump - I've met too many people who had issues with the pump and that was enough for me to not spend the thousands of dollars required for something that I didn't think would meet my needs or expectations.

There's a few of us Type 1s on the board - some have been living with diabetes longer than I have. Welcome aboard!

Can you explain how the Libre works? I have considered switching to the Libre because of connection issues with my Dexcom G6. I can't move my iPhone or my T-Slim pump to the opposite side of my body than the G6 sensor/ transmitter, without losing the connection to the G6. Thanks, Mike
