Thumbs up Intro to the Community

Hello fellow diabetics and non diabetics,
I'm Jimmy,

I joined this community to see how other diabetics are handling their diabetes.

I believe in a healthy lifestyle and that is how I manage my type 2 diabetes.
My last 4 A1c tests have been steady at 5.4. I notice I am still a bit high on the fasting insulin and hence my insulin resistance is a bit on the high side.

My fasting blood sugar during the week ranges anywhere from 4.9 to 5.7 mmol/L ( 88 - 102 mg/dl).

I have quit eating sugar and processed foods, I am a strict low carber and eat 2 meals and fast everyday.

I am looking forward to chatting and helping out where I can.

See you in the community.

thanks.

Hello, jimmy!

You're going to find a bunch of like-minded people here, many of whom are eating low-carb (or ketogenic), fasting, exercising, etc., to control their blood glucose -- and others who are interested in or using at least some of these methods. Your contributions of experience and support are welcome!

Hi Jimmy, welcome to the forum.

I'm type 2 and manage my BG with diet and exercise. I try to stay below 30g of carbs per day on a keto diet. I was doing a very strict OMAD (one meal a day) from last September into March or April of this year but have strayed from it a little. Intend to get back to either OMAD or at least get to where I am eating in a 8 or less hour window again.

I was working rotating shift work until September this year, so getting a lot of steps and stairs was not an issue. I also ride a road bike and like to get on it when I can. Went from working a 14 of 28 twelve hour days rotation to working 20 of 28 8-10 hour straight days. Most of my riding was done on the off days before, but now I should be able to make up for fewer off days by having more off hours most work days. Not having to get up at 3:30 AM when working days will let me have more time in the evenings.

Looking forward to seeing your posts.

Hi Jimmy,

Welcome to the forum. Looks like you are maintaining your diabetes well. I was diagnosed in 2017. Thanks to everyone here, I've learned to maintain my diabetes by eating LCHF.

I hope you continue to post.
