The question that I would have had, which meter is correct. Maybe your Contour has been reading low all of the time. I think that all meters are a good indicator, but somewhat of a leap of faith.

I think that the next step would be for your doc to add Metformin to your regimen. If that doesn't work, they may need to add a basal insulin shot at bedtime. I used LANTUS but there are several.
