I think it's great! All of us are different and the fasting number is the hardest to control. My A1C is 5.3, my daytime BG is under 120 at least 95% of the time, under 140 100% and I eat about 20 grams of carb a day. But even with that my fasting averages a little higher than yours.. maybe 105. Some people can maintain lower fasting and that's great if you can do it, but some of us just don't seem to get the 80's and low 90's no matter what we do.
I don't hate the liver dump - seems to me it's a natural function for both diabetic and non-diabetic folks and as long as it isn't pushing my BG/A1C out of my comfort zone I just let it go. I only frown about my fasting if it's over 110. I don't growl unless it's over 115.
