My name is Tammy and I have been diabetic for 17 years. I am Type I and no one in my family has diabetes. I just recently ended a 16 year career in pharmaceuticals and need to get involved with other diabetics for the first time. I am going to a doc. appointment (1.5 hours away) to get a pump and CMG. I am nervous that it is a mistake for me, but I need to take the plunge.

The pH miracle for diabetics, by Dr. Robert Young

Let me know if you tried it.
Beware that the supplement the doctor sells contains lots of iodine. If you are on an iodine restricted diet because of your thyroid, you might want to consult your doctor first.

Other than that, I think eating lots of green vegetables is fine. Organic if you can.

Hello Tammy, welcome to our community! That is great that you are about to start pumping. I have been pumping for 30 months and I now have the best control I have ever had. I have very few highs and lows while pumping. A pump can give much more stable control if it is used properly. Be sure you know as much as possible about your pump before training begins. I recommend the book "Pumping Insulin" by John Walsh. I bought mine on amazon.com.

I know a lady from England who is on the ph diet for about a year. She has improved so much and she is taking much less insulin and her A1c's have improved. Good luck with your diet.

I have been Type 1 for 64 years now and I am very healthy. If we have good control then we can have long, healthy lives.

Richard
