My Endo is also a researcher. He came across a study where pharma was looking into hypo unawareness. I've had issues in the past, waking up in an ambulance, and unknowingly fighting the EMS team. So pharma threw 2000 different current meds using mice, to see if one world help. AND... They found a med that REVERSES HYPO UNAWARENESS!!! I started it a year ago and since then I catch my lows! Lowest I've been is 55 when before I'd drop to 22.
The medication is REGLAN, available generic and cheap too! And it works. A lot of T1d's with this issue are now on REGLAN. My Dr gave a presentation to... Well I don't know who but the info on REGLAN is getting out there. If anyone has hypo unawareness, talk to your doc about REGLAN. Dosing is 10 milligrams 2xa day to 1 tab every other day. As bad as HYPO UNAWARENESS is I really wanted to share with everyone. It truly 100% reversed mine. I have symptoms now! Tingling lips and tongue, headache, sweaty. I hope everyone finds this helpful!

That's great news TruckeeMike. Over the years I have lost some of my Hypo awareness - where I used to have 30 minutes to get some food in to me to raise my BGs it has reduced to more like 15 minutes. It would be nice to have more time to make the necessary steps.

Any side effects to REGLAN that you're aware of or have experienced?

Only side effect is it may give you the runs/squirts/trots! That's why I take 1 every other day that fixes that issue. I don't know how common that is. Reglan for hypo unawareness is off label use btw you won't find it on like WebMD. Other than that no! It gave me symptoms of a low I hadn't had in many years. If call this a breakthrough for hypo. Feel free to msg me if you ask your Dr and they want info. I'll give up my Endo's phone#😂
