Thrice daily consumption of a novel, premeal shot containing a low dose of whey protein increases time in euglycemia during 7 days of free-living in individuals with type 2 diabetes | BMJ Open Diabetes Research & Care

A very small study (18 participants) of Type 2 diabetics showed that drinking 15ml (approximately 1/16 cup) of whey protein lowered blood glucose to the point at which participants spent almost two more hours each day with their BG at "normal" levels. Link to the full study shows assumptions and makes it clear that further research in larger cohorts is needed. However, I find it interesting that many of us have seen that eating a little protein does tend to blunt higher post-eating BG levels.
