Hi all I've posted elsewhere but I thought I'd tell you a little bit about myself. I was diagnosed type 2 I believe about 2 months ago. When I started seeing my current doctor I was very ill. I couldn't stay awake for more than 4 hours at a time and I felt very fatigued and listless much of the time. Needless to say I had no life! After two months on metformin and glyburide I now can stay away most days all day until the night when I sleep for an almost normal 6 or 8 hours. I still get tired and have naps sometimes but who doesn't like a nap. ;)

I'm 39 years old and I'm on disability benefits rights now. I am a fine artist, I don't make a living at it but I have sold work. Its not a hobby and its not a profession exactly. It really is a calling. During the last few years I was not able to do anything physical because of the fatigue, but I've started painting again! I can't tell you what a good feeling it! I'm only 2 months into treatment and I've started walking with my daughter. I'm still using my walker but things are definately looking up.

I'm enjoying reading everyone's posts on the site, I'm really glad to be here.

Ooo you certainly have alot of artist in your family. So interesting that you also do drawing as well Terri! I don't think I can really nail myself down to a style, its somewhat realistic. Here is one of my paintings to give you an idea.

I hear you about the brush work Terri, I drew for many years before ever attempting even color! Its one of the rare painting when I drew from my imagination. I'd love to see some of your drawings Terri. Thanks for your kind comments. <3
lol Terri there was a similar painting bought by the Vancouver Art Gallery for 1.4 million and it was 4 vertical stripes! This was years ago but I'll never forget it. I don't understand what they're thinking when that happens.

Just remember when you paint something the first time, if you don't like it you can paint over it! :)
