I was 63 when diagnosed with diabetes. I knew enough to start eating low-carb. This forum has helped me fine-tune my diet, which is how I control my diabetes (no meds or insulin) and my blood glucose level is near normal levels now.

If you want to understand diabetes better, I recommend this site: www.bloodsugar101.com It is full of accurate information about diabetes, and the author cites her sources so you can check it all out if so inclined.

It is always good when a spouse gets on-board and is supportive. Kudos to you.
