Another newbie!

Hi, I'm Cindy, and I am a newly diagnosed T2 and new to medication (Metformin). When I was diet-controlled, I followed a low-carb diet, but I cheated...a lot!!! I thought I knew a lot about low-carb dieting, but I am finding out that this is a lot harder than I thought it would be. Having to answer to those numbers is so frustrating!!

Welcome Cindy :D, Yes Diabetes is not a strait forward disease as there is many elements that fluctuate BG control. I am a type 1 and having to manage BG control is definitely done buy external insulin.
You have a working pancreas but not producing enough so the Met will help you there. Food on the other hand is all about managing carbs.
Exercise is a good way to control BG's as I suppose your doctor has told you already. ;)
