I think it is good to be aware of the fact that you don't need to be overweight to get diabetes. I also think many of these young , thinner type 2's are probably LADA's. The media just doesn't understand that. They are still under the assumption that even these thinner women eat too much junk food and don't exercise enough. They act like all you have to do is add 30 minutes of walking and your blood sugar magically goes down. We all know that is far from the truth.
I was just out walking my hour walk, not 30 minutes and thinking about the article. This theory about the skinny fat around your organs. Can this fat be seen or is this just a theory? They don't even talk about Insulin Resistance or other reasons for us to have higher bgs. I always think about it as if I have an allergy to certain foods. In my case it is wheat , grains, sugar and most carbs.
