I spent the last few days in the hospital for bronchitis/asthma issues. I was pleasantly surprised actually at how they managed my blood sugar...or rather..how they allowed me to do so. I had to go on prednisone so of course my blood sugar was all over the place :( They brought me a pad of paper and a pen and allowed me to dose my insulin as I needed to cover it..and the nurses would use what I wrote on the pad of paper to keep track of how much insulin I was using for documentation reasons. Really was as nice of an experience as you can have being cooped up in a hospital :)

Gosh Pam . . . what a bummer - but good to hear there are a few hospital staffs (at least one! heheh!) that trust the patient to know what she's doing!

Hope you have a quick convalescence - you've really been burning the candle at both ends!

It is good to see you are well again Pam. As hospitals want to control your insulin, It's rare to administer insulin buy yourself in a hospital.

Welcome back
Pam. :D
