If I have a busy day (I have two little kids!) I sometimes take a nap when they do. I test my sugar before doing so, to make sure the reason I'm not drained/tired is because my sugar is high. Question...Why is my blood sugar sometimes higher upon waking then it was before going to sleep? I've been asleep for an hour or so, and expect it to be lower, but I get the opposite without having eaten anything??

I've noticed mine does that, too sometimes. I have no idea why though. I hope you find an answer.

for muscles to work they use Glucose, and when you nap you stop using your muscles. When muscles aren't using the BG so it accumulates and your BG rises.
