I recently started glucophage 750 XR about 2.2 mg a day and am also on lantus.I have also been quite liberal with alchoholic beverages , particularly red wine. In the last 2 weeks I I have been feeling very uncomfortable in the stomach area and suddenly notice it is much much more flabbier and large. Could this be diabetes or a drug reaction ?

I checked with a doctor and he feels its just gas and I am in a remote place where I do not have access to quality medical care

and I dont think its just gas but there is no pain though.

I know what you mean about remote . . . we're pretty rural too.

If you think it isn't "just gas", then what other options are there? If it became an emergency, could you call an ambulance? You did mention being uncomfortable - just not painfully uncomfortable?

this is not in the US where you an call an ambulance- this is a remote part of the world

I realize that you are in Nepal, but I thought perhaps Kathmanu was a different spelling of Kathmandu, the capital city and a metropolitan area, & perhaps there were some services available, besides internet access.
