I have a MiniMed Paradigm 522 and would like information on how a continuous glucose monitor would work? My doctor had me on a 3-day trial of one but it was very basic. We did not sync it to a meter or my pump or anything extra. I am a little curious to see if it would help lower my A1Cs but I would like some more information before I jump into anything. Anyone have any suggestions or input?

What it will do is show you where you need to make adjustments to your basal rates to stay at an even level more often. My A1C levels droped by .7 after getting things all ironed out. But keep in mind that it is just another tool. Just using it won't fix anything. It is a lot of work. Do you already have the Care Link to down load your pump.

Thanks for the response! I understand the CGM is only a tool and that its success is dependent on the user :)
