Many people say they use/eat coconut oil. WebMD site said coconut oil should NOT be consumed, high fat content causes heart problems. Who does one believe? So many good people swear by it and used it for years. Are we just a bunch of suckers using a product that the coconut oil business says its OK to use??? Any info anyone???

It`s a myth that the fat is dangerous.
Lots of people worldwide has discovered that it is the carbohydrates that is dangerous for our health and weight.
People who has changed their diet to eating little carbs and in stead increased the amount of fat in their diet, has discovered that the high cholesterol goes back to normal, alltough the experts has told us for years we have to avoid fat because that will give us deadly high cholesterol.:confused:
I used google and read lots of documentation why I should stop eating carbs and instead eat fat..
My cholesterol are now perfect, and I have never used any drugs to lower it.

Why are you asking this question in two places? Do the folks who post here really strike you as the kind of "suckers" who would be taken in by snake-oil? Do some reading for yourself, apply critical thinking and please make your own mind up about the safety or otherwise of saturated fat.

Coconut Confusion. Sounds like the name of a song. I think its what I get when I miss my daily coconut oil!

For the past 40 years americans have followed a low fat, high carb diet. Where has that got us. We have an explosion of diabetes cases in the US. Following that type of diet I gained a lot of weight. When I swtiched to a low carb/ high fat diet I took it all off. The danger of heart disease especially with diabetics from eating a high carb diet is much stronger than eating LC/HF. I do use Coconut Oil several times a day. I now weigh in around 120 most days and my bgs are much more stable than they have been in years. The nice thing is what it does to your HDL. After I convinced my husband to incorperate it in his diet his HDL went from high 20's to high 50's in a few months. I think everyone makes their own choice but I will choose the diet that gives me the best bgs and Cholesterol numbers.
