I'm feeling for you that you got diabetes, as all of us here. It's no pleasure to get diagnosed, but as Richard mentioned before: you can grow old (Richard, I'm not calling you OLD!!) and live a very good and healthy life.
I know my diabetes made me live healthier and more aware. I'm not happy I got it, but I'm still a happy person.
If your body requires insulin, that's what you should give it. Don't deny the condition, it is there and it needs proper treatment.
