Okay, the coffee smoothies, I will be trying for sure especially on one of those hot mornings when a hot coffee doesn't fit the job. We haven't had instant coffee in the house for years. Maybe some really thick perked will suffice instead. ;) Worth a try. They look Good for an occasional quick pick-me-up/meal. I always check to see what new foods/beverages do to my blood sugar also. Thanks John.

Thanks, John. Many good recipes there. I'm going to be getting the blender whirring soon. I also happened up that dLife website while googling for recipes. What a great website. I bookmarked it so I could go back to it. Lots of good info there. Thank you.

Every morning I have a smoothie for breakfast. I have tried several recipes and I'm very happy with them :)
All right! You can't just tell me you have a smoothie every morning for breakfast and not tell me what you put in them. I want to make smoothies but I am afraid of the carb content. You are the recipe goddess, you must share!

So far this one sounds the best to me and very low carb, too. I'll be whipping it up soon!

Diabetic Recipes | Orange Smoothie
That is a very nice recipe!

My experience with smoothies is, that they do contain a lot of carbs. But to me, I need not as much insulin for 60 gr carbs from smoothies than 60 gr carbs from bread. So I prefer smoothies over bread for breakfast.
In fact, I bolus for the smoothies and put my pump temporarily on 0% delivery for 3 hours and that works perfect for me!

I will post some smoothie recipes, if you are interested, although they contain quite some carbs.
